Strategies to Support Pregnant and Parenting System-Involved Youth and Young Adults

Training Description

Given the prevalence of pregnant and parenting system-involved youth (SIY), it’s important for those who support them to learn strategies to best support SIY and young adults as they grow in their parenting skills. This training will provide an overview of prenatal and postnatal health. The training will also discuss best practices for working with pregnant and parenting system-involved youth and young adults.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

·        Identify and explain at least 1 component of prenatal health to educate pregnant and parenting system-involved youth on the impact of substance use on the growing fetus.
