About Our Trainings
The Fred Finch Training Institute provides high-quality training to people who provide services to children, youth, and families facing challenges.

​Please note that we will register those providing services and/or support in Alameda County prior to registering others who will be put on a wait list until one week prior to the training. Only wait listed individuals from certain Counties (Amador, Calaveras, Contra Costa, Humboldt, Lake, Mendocino, Solano, and Tuolumne County) will be admitted if/when there are spots still available in the training.

Cancellations must be received one week prior to a scheduled class.
​
Fred Finch Youth & Family Services is approved to provide CE hours by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. CE hours are available for LCSWs, LMFTs, LPCCs, and LEPs. All training is offered, at no cost, in partnership with Chabot-Las Positas College District, Alameda County; and funded by Title IV-E.

Eligibility:
Fred Finch is pleased to provide these trainings in conjunction with Chabot-Las Positas Community College District and Alameda County through Title IV-E Funding. You can attend trainings at no cost if you provide care and/or services to:

Alameda County foster children and/or youth
-
Children and/or youth facing imminent enrollment in Alameda County services
​
**Those who support foster youth and/or system involved youth in certain Counties (Amador, Calaveras, Contra Costa, Humboldt, Lake, Mendocino, Solano, and Tuolumne County) can also attend if/when we have sufficient Alameda County registration and there are spots still available in the training.

Bring Training to Your Organization:
Organizations serving Alameda County foster children and/or youth may request The Fred Finch Training Institute trainers to provide on-site instruction at no cost (contingent upon fund availability). At times, Fred Finch staff may be able to design trainings specific to the needs of a group or organization.

Continuing Education Hours
Fred Finch Youth & Family Services is an approved Continuing Education Provider (#045295) by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapist for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and LEPs. Fred Finch maintains responsibility for this program/course and its content.

All trainings are offered, at no cost, in partnership with Chabot-Las Positas College District, Alameda County and funded by Title IV-E.

Continuing Education hours will be provided for most courses offered. CE hours will be provided within 30 days from the date of the training and will be sent via email to each individual attendee.

Cancellation Policy
If we cancel a training course due to low registration, we will notify registered participants by email one week prior to the course start date. In cases where courses are cancelled for reasons beyond our control, they may be cancelled with shorter notice.
Training registrants will be provided with a makeup date that is scheduled for the cancelled training, once available.
Please note that we will not be liable for any loss, including travel and accommodation costs, suffered by or on behalf of any person who wished to attend an event, should we cancel it for any reason.
Disability Accommodation
Fred Finch Youth & Family Services will make reasonable efforts during the training to accommodate individuals with disabilities and/or medical conditions in accordance/compliance with the state Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and applicable statutes. To request an accommodation due to a disability/medical condition during a training, please contact the Training Department (listed on the training announcement) no later than three days before the training. Disabled parking is available.

Grievance Policy
A training participant has the right to seek a remedy for a dispute or disagreement through Fred Finch’s policies for filing complaints/grievances for visitors and employees. Participants may use available informal means to have decisions reconsidered before filing a formal complaint/grievance. No retaliation of any kind shall be taken against a participant for filing a complaint/grievance. In an effort to provide the highest quality services to participants in our trainings, you are encouraged to report immediately any concerns regarding your training to the Training Director who will provide you with the complaint form.

All participant complaints/grievances should be submitted in writing to:

Once a complaint or grievance has been submitted, you can expect a response in no more than ten (10) business days. Upon receipt, the Training Director will conduct a formal review of the complaint/grievance and will attempt a timely resolution. If no resolution is forthcoming, or the problem is not satisfactorily resolved, the participant may direct any complaint/grievance to the Sr. Director of Human Resources.
